We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 45-day locum tenens assignment in California. This opportunity begins on Jan 5, 2026, and features 12-hour per diem shifts from 9am to 9pm at an urgent care facility operating 365 days a year. Candidates must have prior urgent care and family practice experience, with emergency room experience encouraged. Job Details - Location: California - Start Date: Jan 5, 2026 - LOA: 45 days - Provider Type Needed: Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner - Schedule: Per diem shifts, 9am-9pm, urgent care open daily Responsibilities and Duties - Provide urgent care services for patients across the lifespan - Assess, diagnose, and treat a range of acute and chronic conditions - Perform examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as appropriate - Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care - Maintain accurate and timely patient records - Adhere to clinical protocols and safety standards Additional Information - Active Nurse Practitioner license required for California - Board certification in Family Medicine required - Certifications needed: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and active DEA registration - Urgent care experience required; family practice experience required; emergency room experience encouraged Benefits - Strong compensation - Travel-related expenses covered - A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided - Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
