Job Description Job Description Our client is seeking a contract to hire Payroll Specialist near the North Hollywood area . See details below Title- Payroll Specialist (accounting) Location: Near North Hollywood Schedule: Monday-Friday (onsite) Hours: 8am-5pm Job details: Payroll Operations Maintain and manage payroll records within the UKG payroll system Process scheduled payrolls, review reports, and verify accuracy prior to transmission Prepare and issue manual checks as required Calculate and administer benefit deductions, garnishments, and other earnings Research, resolve, and document payroll discrepancies Audit payroll activity to identify and correct processing errors Investigate and resolve misdirected or incorrect payments and coordinate corrections Manage all employee timecards, including reconciliation and approval Provide timekeeping training and ongoing support to employees and managers Prepare and submit payroll-related state filings Prepare and upload payroll journal entries to NetSuite Compliance & Reporting Interpret and process wage garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies in compliance with applicable regulations Track and monitor payroll-related performance metrics across the organization Support Workers' Compensation and insurance filings and ongoing maintenance Manage 401(k) and HSA contributions, reconciliations, and documentation Assist with annual 401(k) audits as needed Maintain and update cost rates to ensure accurate financial reporting Coordinate training initiatives and distribute communications to staff Partner with managers to promote compliance with time entry deadlines Follow up with employees regarding incomplete or missing time submissions Finalize monthly reporting cycles, including closing and approving outstanding entries Process Board-approved equity grants on a quarterly basis Maintain accurate employee data within Carta, ensuring consistency with UKG records Enter termination details in compliance with company policies Perform quality reviews to ensure data integrity prior to submission Finalize and release equity updates in alignment with Board approvals Accounting Support Assist with general accounting operations, including accounts payable, employee expenses, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance Support month-end close activities Respond to accounting-related inquiries from employees with accuracy and professionalism Additional Responsibilities Assist with weekly and monthly accounting tasks as assigned Perform other duties as needed to support business operations Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of payroll administration and accounting-related experience Experience with UKG experience a must Strong analytical, organizational, and research skills High level of attention to detail with a proactive problem-solving mindset Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service orientation Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Demonstrated systems and IT aptitude, including the ability to translate business needs into functional solutions Pay Details: $35.00 per hour Search managed by: Cynthia Varela Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
